IDENTITY: Who Is Christ To You?

Romans 1:1-2

Greeting

1 Paul, a servant^[a] of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God, ² which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the holy Scriptures

Romans 1:14-17

¹⁴ I am under obligation both to Greeks and to barbarians,^[a] both to the wise and to the foolish. ¹⁵ So I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome.

The Righteous Shall Live by Faith

¹⁶ For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. ¹⁷ For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith,^[b] as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”^[c]

Romans 5:8

⁸ but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 8:34

³⁴ Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.^[a]
